I've compiled a list of important things to know about buying and selling Central Oregon real estate. 1) Know what your credit looks like! This will have a huge impact on what homes you look at. I have many resources in the Bend area, local companies, some nationally known to help with your transaction. 2) Know what you can afford. Be financially prepared for the impact of a major home purchase BEFORE you look. It is always good to have a down payment of 5-10%, however, it is very common today to purchase a home with little to no down payment. Please see your mortgage professional for loan options to fit your needs, or I can refer you to a mortgage professional. 3) Know what you are looking for! Write a list of your must-have needs and wants, and update it as you look at homes. This helps me to find you the perfect Central Oregon home that will live up to your expectations. 4) Know what you don’t want! Make a list of things you don’t want in a house and neighborhood. 5) Know the neighborhood. I will give you as much information about the neighborhood you plan to buy a home in, but it is always good measure to drive through the neighborhood during different times throughout the day, particularly in the evening hours or late at night. |
